North Albert Field Archers is a family orientated incorporated club that has been in existence for more than 20 years, with over 100 current members, and is dedicated to the sport of archery.
North Albert has a total of six ranges, of which 3 (each consisting of 20 paper targets) are available to all club members 7 days a week. The club has entered into the new and challenging sport of 3D archery with the purchase of three sets of 3D targets. Each set consists of ten life size animal replicas ranging from hen turkeys to a bison.
All financial members and paid visitors are covered by public liability insurance if they are injured on the ranges. Many members have achieved qualifications in many facets of archery, like coaching, game scoring, bowhunting education etc - these members are very approachable in sharing their
knowledge with anyone interested.
The club caters for many shooting disciplines, from traditional (longbow) to high speed compound bows with scopes. Many members are also involved in bowhunting of feral animals, which is a true test of an archers skill. As a result of this the club arranges one hunt a year whereby experienced hunters take out novices and teach them how to hunt correctly in accordance with the rules of Fair Chase, how to navigate and survive in the bush.
Fresh from the 3DAAA Nationals in NSW we now move to the end of the year celebrations for the club with the NAFA Christmas Party tomorrow. Hopefully we can have as many club members as possible attend to round out the year in festive fashion. On a related note this is my last year as Webmaster for the club and I will be stepping aside to allow some new blood to reinvigorate North Albert's corner of the web. I know Mark has big plans for this website and look forward to seeing him take the club's online presence to the next level.
Hey guys, our big shoot is only three days away! Thank you to all those who have helped at the working bees over the last couple of weeks and those who have donated to our raffle table! We are looking forward to a very fun and successful shoot and hope to see you all there! The photos from the Traditional Rendezvous have also been uploaded for your viewing pleasure.
The club's Traditional Rendezvous on April 7th and 8th is fast approaching. This is the 12th year of the Rendezvous and for more information please check out the Flyer below.
The clubs 2012 shoot calendar has been uploaded and is now available on the web-site. Our first shoot is this weekend - paper shoot on Sunday the 5th of February. We look forward to seeing you there.
Where's the 2012 calendar? It's almost finished so thanks for your patience we'll have it on the web-site asap.
Well we're back for another year and some changes are on their way. The club continues to look at a new format web-site to allow for easier updates and administration. Mark Boatfield continues to work on this and over time we're looking forward to unveiling a completely new web-site with greater member involvement and an improved experience.
